Mesquite Bean Cafe serves breakfast and lunch, mostly simple fares but extremely delicious. I have gone to lunch here multiple times, and they never disappoint... my favorite is the jalapeño chicken soup which they serve on Tuesday. The cafe is not huge, the decor and furniture is a little outdated, but I don’t come here to look at them, I come for the food. The price is affordable, Parking is a little bit limited. They are open Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 2pm.

I am not quick to leave negative reviews. I also give places at least three attempts. This morning as the last time I eat at the Mesquite Bean. Their breakfast menu is small. Five items. Yet for the third time I waited for over 30 minutes for briskets and gravy and a egg sandwich. The waitress was very friendly and apologized for the wait. But after three visits and three very long waits for simple menu items I am done. The food was fine but not worth the wait.

Food was very good. We all had different things and would recommend for people to go try it.

Went here with a group of co workers for a birthday lunch at the request of the Birthday girl. I got the beef bits with sauteed mushrooms and aus gus sauce. Wow! Meat always super tender and super tasty! Everyone I asked loved their food! The place is pretty small... But the staff is really friendly. Will definitely go back in the future.

This food is pure flavor. Everything was properly seasoned. You will leave full and satisfied if you get the daily special. The quality of the food is a step above what my expectations were, walking in. Would highly recommend to anyone in San Angelo.

I've heard great things about this place so I decided to try it. I don't know if it was what my friend and I ordered, but we just weren't impressed. Nothing special. We did like the cookies at the front, they were yummy. Service was friendly and attentive.

Local San Angelo restaurant that's a great place for lunch. Food is satisfying with just the right touch of down home comfort!

Chicken fry was not Texas size, more like Road Island size. And little over cooked. The salad was good.

great food at affordable prices

Great food and great staff!! If you have to wait a bit for food it's cause it's a tiny cafe with one or two cooks. The wait is worth it cause the food is amazing!!!

Best Frito Chili pie in town. Ask for the Ozona.

Horrible service: I came in at 12:15 for lunch and did not receive my food until 1:00 (All I ordered was a sandwich).

My first time, I ordered a grilled chicken salad to go and was very pleased. Very healthy food.

Great food and best prices in area. Nicely decorated. Plain, simple, and clean. Not too many places where you can get a breakfast sandwich for less than $5 anymore. Service was great, and barely any people in the am hours, as most are late risers here. Only about 5 items on the breakfast menu and hours are limited, which is why I gave it 4 stars. Open at 8AM, which is earlier than most places here, but only open until 2PM, and not open on weekends. Conveniently located in the downtown area and easy to find.

Tried something a little different. Loved the food, nice, clean place. People were very nice and attentive.

I ate here this morning for breakfast and had the breakfast taco without the tortilla, so they just made me an omelet, really. Small menu bust great staff and wonderful tasting

The tilapia lunch special was amazing! The lunch beef tenders were oh so tender and juicy. Yum! The green beans had a sweet taste to them, not my style but still good. The prices are great. Mesquite Bean Cafe is my new favorite lunch spot. I wish I had gotten pics as the presentation was nice, too. Next time.
